Description from the seller
Splendid antique brooch in rose 9K gold, crafted in Victorian style, in the shape of a "buckle" or love knot. A sentimental piece dating roughly 1890–1910.
CHARACTERISTICS:
- Metal: Rose 9K gold. Color and construction compatible with the period. Hallmark to be verified by a goldsmith's test.
- Stones: Decorated on the front with 2 rosettes of natural/fine pearls + 3 blue cabochon-cut stones + 1 clear central stone.
- Work: Typical hollow mount of the era, with a functioning hinge and hook clasp.

The "knot" was a very common symbol in the Victorian era as a sign of fidelity and union. A rare piece and highly sought after by antique jewelry collectors.
