Description from the seller
CORUM BUBBLE CHRONOGRAPH WATCH (REF. 396.150.20): We present at auction one of the most iconic and bold watches in contemporary Swiss watchmaking. Launched in 2000 under Severin Wunderman, the Corum Bubble broke all conventions with a design inspired by experimental diving watches from the 1960s.
The undeniable centerpiece of this piece is its monumental 8 mm-thick domed sapphire crystal. This crystal not only offers exceptional resilience but also acts as a magnifying lens, creating fascinating visual distortions of the dial depending on the viewing angle.
The solid, 45 mm polished stainless steel case houses a high-precision Swiss quartz chronograph movement. The black dial features luminescent hands and markers, three silver subdials for timekeeping, a date window at 6 o’clock, and the unmistakable stylized Arabic numerals of the collection. The screw-down case back is secured by screws and guarantees 200 meters (660 ft) of water resistance.
Condition (Expert Review)
Please bidders read the state description carefully and observe the photo gallery:
Case and Crystal: In magnificent aesthetic condition. The highly polished steel shows only very light micro-scratches typical of occasional careful use. The massive sapphire crystal is immaculate, with no dents or scratches.
Movement: The quartz caliber operates correctly, as do the chronograph pushers and the reset to zero.
Strap and Clasp (Important): The original steel deployant clasp functions perfectly. The exterior leather strap presents a good appearance, but the inner lining is severely cracked, peeled, and deteriorated by time (a very common wear in materials of this series). It is fully functional, but the future buyer may wish to replace the strap in the medium term. (Sent without original box or paperwork).
Shipping
The item will be carefully protected and securely packed, with insured shipping and an international tracking number.
A fantastic opportunity to acquire a cult classic of Swiss watchmaking, famous for its radical aesthetics and its unparalleled wrist presence!
