This bronze sculpture I bought 45 years ago from a collector in Benche, Belgium
The initials on the back are those of the bronze founder Dombray Chauleur, Liège region
Specialized in casting religious objects.
This bronze sculpture was cast in sand, clearly visible on the back.
What’s special about this specimen is that it was not retouched; the casting edge is still present, which makes it unique.
The patina is a natural bronze patina formed over time
