Description from the seller
Stanca Dumitrescu is a Romanian multidisciplinary visual artist, educated at the High School and the Faculty of Fine Arts in Bucharest. Born into a family with a strong artistic tradition, she is the daughter of painter Zamfir Dumitrescu and the granddaughter of master artist Ion Pacea. Her works are held in private collections in Romania and abroad.
"Between Water and Fire" is a large-format original abstract expressionist painting (100 × 130 cm), created in mixed media using acrylic and ink on canvas. Layered textures, rich chromatic contrasts, and expressive gestures create a powerful sense of movement, depth, and emotional intensity.
The composition explores the meeting point between two opposing forces—the quiet fluidity of water and the transformative energy of fire. Rather than depicting a landscape, it invites the viewer to experience a space where tension and harmony coexist, allowing each interpretation to become deeply personal.
This is a unique, hand-painted artwork, protected with a final varnish to preserve its colours and textured surface. It can be displayed in different orientations, each revealing a distinct visual rhythm and emotional balance.
The canvas was originally stretched on a wooden frame and later removed for easier shipping and handling. The edges are slightly curved and are ready to be re-stretched on a new stretcher frame.
The artwork is sold unframed. Any images showing the painting framed or displayed in interior settings are provided for presentation purposes only.
For safe international shipping, the artwork will be carefully rolled along its longer side and packed in a rigid, lightweight PVC tube, providing excellent protection for its textured surface during transport.
Due to photographic lighting and individual screen settings, slight variations in colour may occur.
