Pescatori all'imbrunire, an oil painting by Remo Testa from Italy, dating to the 1960s, sold with a frame.
Description from the seller
An Italian mid-20th century oil painting, incredibly serene and evocative, by the renowned landscape artist Remo Testa. This magnificent work depicts traditional fishing boats anchored in calm waters beneath a cloudy and dramatic sky, pierced by a splendid and luminous reflection of a full moon. Testa's mastery lies in his ability to capture the poetic silence of coastal life, using a delicate tonal palette of marine greens, deep grays, and subtle touches of ocher. Framed in a large, high-quality wooden frame with an elegant fabric mat, this work represents an exceptional decorative item of great impact for classical collections and luxurious seaside or lakeside interiors. Technical assessment and details: Artistic quality and style: Excellent post-impressionist handling of light and reflections on the water surface. The composition features a refined horizontal perspective play, typical of Testa's most inspired marine productions. Materials and support: oil on faesite, masterfully preserved. Presentation: equipped with a wide wooden frame, an integrated fabric mat, and a gold professional collection plaque attached to the lower central edge. Authenticity: signed “Remo Testa” in the hand of the artist in the lower right quadrant. Condition: Excellent; the large wooden frame shows a beautiful natural patina and very slight signs of time that attest to its originality. Era: Mid-20th Century (roughly the 1960s/1970s). Color: dark marine green, cloud gray, silvery and reddish tones on the boats. Signature: Present (Autograph, lower right). Dimensions of the painting: 11 cm by 29 cm. The lot will be appropriately packaged and shipped with contracted couriers and online tracking. For this lot, shipments outside the European Community are not performed.
