David Law presents Jim (Pochoir), a 40 × 40 cm limited edition pochoir artwork (2/8) created in 2026, signed on the plate and produced in France with a culture pop theme, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
A multidisciplinary photographic artist, author and musician, David Law develops work focused on gaze, presence and the perception of the image in urban space. He first came to prominence with a series devoted to shop window mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superimpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave rise to an art book published in 2021. Later drawn to the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he continues this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost living presence, questioning our relationship to illusion and projection.
New series – Walls of Legends
This series pays tribute to iconic figures who have shaped history, music, cinema and popular culture. Each portrait, distilled to essentials, captures in a few powerful contrasts an immediately recognizable identity. Created with contemporary digital tools and then transposed into a stencil aesthetic, the works are part of the street art tradition, between spontaneity and mastery of gesture. Deep black tones and rough surfaces evoke direct wall intervention, while imperfections and textures reinforce their urban character. Between collective memory and visual expression, this series offers a timeless reading of icons that continue to inhabit our imagination.
Edition & Manufacturing
Each artwork is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist’s proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are produced on aluminum with an integrated rear mounting. Printed on luminous white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum panels, with a soft UV- and moisture-resistant laminate, ensuring excellent durability, long-term color stability, and a modern, contemporary appearance.
Parcours
Since 2014, David Law has participated in around twenty contemporary art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the official photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Alongside his visual work, he develops a writer-performer career including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a graphic novel, a photo book and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the group FRENZY.
