ARTIST BIOGRAPHY:
Antoni Sala Herrero (1927-2012) was a Spanish self-taught painter, specializing in landscapes, marine and port views. From a young age he showed a love for drawing and in 1967 he held his first solo exhibition in Figueres. His work is characterized by luminous, colorful atmospheres, with an impressionist style. He exhibited regularly in venues and galleries in Barcelona and other Catalan towns, and he won important awards such as the Vila de Palamós (1969) and that of the Societé National de Beaux Arts of Paris (1983). His work includes landscapes of the Costa Brava and Mediterranean views, with oils on canvas highly valued in the art market.
