For sale, a large and impressive George III sterling silver entrée dish cover / meat dome by Royal silversmith John Bridge, London.
Details:
- Maker: John Bridge, London. Maker's mark I·B with crown, indicating Royal Warrant holder.
- Hallmarks: Fully hallmarked London, 1832. Lion passant for sterling 925, leopard head town mark, date letter r for 1832, and duty mark.
- Material: Sterling Silver, 925/1000.
- Weight: 2295 grams / 73.8 troy oz.
- Dimensions: Approx. 36 cm x 26 cm x 16 cm high.
- Provenance: Engraved with fine armorial crest and coat of arms. Motto ADVANCE WITH COURAGE. Inventory number 7309 and set number 3 engraved, indicating this was part of a large aristocratic service.
- Condition: Very good antique condition. No splits or repairs. Sturdy handle. Light surface wear consistent with age and use. Beautiful original patina.
