"Promise" is a unique work with a strong visual impact, created in 2024. This piece fully aligns with Dora Romano's artistic research, rendering the informal materiality with a personal and vibrant stylistic signature. The composition seems to recall, in the intensity of the gesture and the gestural energy, the lesson of the masters of abstract expressionism: one can sense echoes of Hans Hartung's scratching force, where the line becomes the structure itself, and of Emilio Vedova's material complexity, in which color becomes clash and movement in space.
The work plays with a sophisticated contrast between a warm chromatic base — evoking the hues of sunset — and the gestural overlays of cool, dark tones.
