China rugs trace centuries-old traditions and are among East Asia's most important crafts. They combine ornate patterns, high-quality materials, and deep cultural symbolism into unique carpets that are valued both as flooring and as wall decoration.

Origin and History
The history of Chinese rug weaving dates back to the Tang Dynasty (618–907 CE). Especially in western China, for example in the Ningxia region or later in Beijing, intricate rugs were created, often for the imperial court. From the 19th century onward, China rugs gained increasing international significance and were exported to Europe and America.
