Description from the seller
Chinese Export Blue and White Mug and Tea Cup – Qianlong Period (1735–1795)
A charming group consisting of a Chinese Export blue and white mug and a tea cup dating to the Qianlong period (1735–1795).
Both pieces are finely painted in underglaze cobalt blue with elegant landscape scenes featuring pavilions, trees, water, figures and traditional Chinese architecture. The rich and vibrant blue decoration, together with the glossy glaze, reflects the high-quality porcelain production of the Qianlong era at its peak.
The mug is decorated with continuous river landscape scenes and features an attractive molded handle. The tea cup is painted with a similar waterside landscape, creating an appealing pair for collectors of Chinese Export porcelain.
Dimensions
* Mug: Height 9.8 cm
* Tea cup: Height 7.2 cm
Condition
* Mug: One hairline crack (please see photographs).
* Tea cup: Two hairline cracks (please see photographs).
Despite these condition issues, both pieces retain excellent display appeal with beautiful cobalt-blue decoration and attractive glaze quality. They are fine examples of 18th-century Chinese Export porcelain from the Qianlong period.
