Richard Lydekker-The Royal Natural History vol 1-5 (London, 1895)
Richard Lydekker (1849 –1915) was a British naturalist, geologist and writer of numerous books on natural history.[2] He was known for his contributions to zoology, palaeontology, and biogeography. He worked extensively in cataloguing fossil vertebrates and describing new species, particularly from India, where he spent several years studying the region's prehistoric fauna.
Lydekker published extensively on the wide subject of Natural History, and between 1894 and 1896 his The Royal Natural History appeared, originally published as a 12 volume set on the animal kingdom:

Section 3: Mammals
Section 4: Mammals
Section 5: Mammals
Section 6: Birds
Section 7: Birds
Section 8: Birds
Section 9: Reptiles
Section 10: Reptiles
Section 11: Invertebrate Animals

Of this series, the first 5 volumes on Mammals are hereby offered.
Section 1: 290 pages, 4 coloured plates & several b/w illustrations
Section 2: 290 pages, 8 coloured plates & several b/w illustrations
Section 3: 290 pages, 6 coloured plates & several b/w illustrations
Section 4: 290 pages, 6 coloured plates & several b/w illustrations

The exterior of the 5 books is in very good condition, as the pictures show. The binding is tight, no missing pages.
The interior has some foxing, mostly not affecting the illustrations. The pictures give a good impression.
