The black walnut wooden barometer, handmade in Germany and dated to 1930–1940, measures 27 cm high, 10 cm wide and 5 cm deep and is in working order.
Description from the seller
Blackwood barometer thermometer, hand-carved.
1 antler is missing and the other is glued.
Otherwise in good condition. Almost 50 years old, then an item may also have some charm and signs of wear.
Height 27 cm
The image shows a traditional wooden barometer, often used for weather forecasting.
Display: The barometer has a dial with indications for air pressure and weather expectations, such as "Regen" (rain) and "Schön" (nice weather).
Decoration: The instrument is adorned with woodcarving of a buck and pine trees, suggesting a traditional, possibly Bavarian or Alpine style.
Function: A barometer measures atmospheric pressure, which helps in predicting weather changes; a falling pressure often indicates worse weather, while rising pressure often predicts nicer weather.
