Collection of 5 Marzi & Remy beer steins – glazed stoneware – West Germany – around 1950–1970
Set of five glazed stoneware beer steins from the German manufacturer Marzi & Remy, located in Höhr-Grenzhausen, in the Westerwald region, famous for its quality stoneware production since the late 19th century.
The lot includes five different models, including a large stein with its original pewter lid, as well as several steins decorated with views of German towns and high-relief traditional scenes.
Each stein bears the Marzi & Remy mark (MR) on the back or under the base, with its molded model number.
The décors feature the brand’s typical style: finely sculpted reliefs, cobalt blue glaze, beige and brown details, worked handles and, for the large stein, a pewter lid with a decorative finial.
