Title: "Absturz"
Some moments change everything. They come without warning, tear the familiar away, and leave traces that linger long after. "Absturz" translates exactly this moment into abstract pictorial language – raw, powerful and at the same time full of depth.
The black color fields seem to follow gravity, flow relentlessly downward, and form a strong contrast to the light canvas. Between the straight tracks and the wild splashes emerges a tension field of control and letting go, of order and chaos. The painting appears to be in motion, as if the decisive moment had just happened.
But a crash does not only mean the end of something. Often it is also the beginning of a change. Where certainties break, there is room for new perspectives. The painting invites reflection on turning points in life – on falling, getting up, and the strength that often only becomes visible when the ground seems to have been reached.
-
The *cracks in the image are intentional*. They are not a sign of damage, but part of the artistic expression. The breaks belong to the surface like scars to the skin: they tell of tension, movement and the process itself. Exactly these cracks give the work depth and authenticity – nothing is smoothed, nothing hidden.
The canvas is delivered rolled.
Christoph Prein is an Austrian artist known for his abstract and contemporary works, created mainly with acrylic paints. Originally from St. Margarethen near Knittelfeld, Prein’s pieces are often characterized by their minimalist, abstract style and are carefully crafted from high-quality materials to ensure vivid colors and longevity. In his art he frequently explores themes such as identity, memory and the examination of human emotions, often pushing the boundaries between the visible and the invisible.
Prein’s approach to art is multidimensional, combining painting with elements of sculpture and installation. This unique style has earned him recognition both in Austria and internationally, with exhibitions across Europe, North America and Asia. His works often invite viewers to contemplate the complexities of the modern world and the deeper aspects of the human experience.
For a painting measuring 160 x 130 cm you need a cradle frame of size 150 x 120 cm and a thickness of 2-4 cm.
You can then either simply stretch the canvas yourself or have it stretched by an artisan or gallery owner.
This is a handmade original, signed by the artist on the back and dated to the year.
High-quality and lightfast acrylic paints have been applied on a repeatedly white-primed gallery canvas.
A varnish was also applied to protect the work.
This work is handmade and thus unique!
--- Authenticity certificate included ---
Beautify your private residence, law firm, clinic or office and upgrade your premises in an elegant and stylish way.
If a person goes into his innermost depths, into a sphere that rarely comes to light, into a space that is mysterious and hidden waiting to be discovered, tickled awake, also tormentingly propped up, then art is born.
