Medsan’s Giclée titled Kanagawa Kintsugi (金継ぎの神奈川沖浪裏) - UNIQUE WORK, a 40 × 40 cm square, signed by hand, from an edition of 1/1, created in 2026 in France, in the Pop Art style with a Culture Pop depiction.
Description from the seller
THERE IS ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD - EDITION 1/1
With this square-format artwork, Medsan gives Hokusai's The Great Wave off Kanagawa the look of an ancient porcelain broken and then repaired with kintsugi. The famous cobalt blue swell, its boats and surf crests in foam, unfolds in a blue monochrome on a cracked white glaze, while a network of golden stitches mends the fragments of the scene. This unique giclée bears the signature « メドサン » (Medsan).
The visual force of the composition lies in its ceramic illusion: the fine trace of cobalt oxide, the delicate craquelure of the glaze, and above all the thick veins of gold of the kintsugi, which traverse the print like precious scars. The contrast between the immutable motif of Hokusai and the golden cracks creates an unexpected depth.
The piece’s impact rests on the juxtaposition of two emblematic symbols of Japanese culture: the most famous wave and the art of “repairing with gold.” Kintsugi, an expression of wabi-sabi, celebrates the beauty of what has been broken and then exalted — and reminds us that even the mightiest wave eventually breaks, to be reborn more beautiful still.
A refined, gilded and deeply symbolic piece, ideal for adding a precious, zen, and decidedly original touch to a design and collector’s interior — a favorite among lovers of Japanese culture as well as classic art.

About the Atelier:
Atelier Joconde is a team of artists united around a living and plural contemporary creation. Set up as a true site of artistic production, the workshop operates both in collective creation and in individual approaches, depending on projects and works. Atelier Joconde is also a family venture. Le Yack, a contemporary figurative painter, develops a narrative and introspective body of work with cinematic and realistic influences. Alongside him, Medsan, oriented toward pop art painting, explores color, modern iconography and the visual culture. Finally, Neo Pablo pursues a more instinctive line, blending abstract art, outsider art and figurative abstraction. Each work is conceived, created and followed within the studio, with a shared artistic standard and a unique identity for each artist.
