Medsan presents Charizard Ukiyo-e (炎龍之図), a 2026 unique 1/1 giclée on wood mounted panel (40 × 60 cm, vertical), signed by hand and in excellent condition, depicting Charizard as a dragon setting a Japanese pagoda ablaze in a Meiji-era ukiyo-e inspired pop art scene.
Description from the seller
There is only one in the world - EDITION 1/1
With this vertical-format work, Medsan stages Charizard, the fire dragon Pokémon, setting a Japanese temple ablaze in the manner of Yoshitoshi’s dramatic prints. With wings spread and jaws spewing flames, the creature engulfs a pagoda while villagers in kimono flee, terrified, under a rain of embers and autumn leaves. The red cartouche proclaims “the image of the fire dragon” and bears a printmaker’s signature.
The visual force of the composition lies in its late-Edo-era narrative print language: precise lines, swirls of smoke and stylized flames, a warm palette of ochres and reds, a bustling crowd captured in motion. The workmanship evokes the great battle and catastrophe scenes of 19th-century masters.
The impact of the work rests on its spectacular power: the video game Pokémon transformed into the devastating dragon of an ancient legend, as if escaped from a scroll painted long ago. Medsan plays with the clash between pop imagery and traditional Japanese prints, in a flamboyant homage.
A graphic, dramatic and spectacular piece, ideal for bringing a pop, retro, and decidedly original touch to a collector’s interior — a favorite for both Pokémon enthusiasts and lovers of Japanese prints.

About the Studio:
Atelier Joconde is a collective of artists gathered around a living and plural contemporary creation. Established as a true artistic production space, the studio operates both in collective creation and in individual approaches, depending on projects and works. Atelier Joconde is also a family venture. Le Yack, a contemporary figurative painter, develops a narrative and introspective body of work with cinematic and realistic influences. By his side, Medsan, oriented toward pop art painting, explores color, modern iconography, and visual culture. Finally, Neo Pablo engages in a more instinctive search, blending abstract art, art brut, and figurative abstraction. Each work is conceived, produced and overseen within the studio, with a shared artistic standard and an identity specific to each artist.
