Dante Alighieri/Gustave Dore' - La Divina Commedia - 1880

Very fine edition of Dante's Divine Comedy with Gustave Doré's drawings, published in 1880 by Edoardo Sonzogno. Inside, there is widespread parchment browning of the paper, especially at the margins, but the illustrations are in excellent condition, complete with Dante's frontispiece. Repairs at the margins of some pages—especially the Inferno—nevertheless the images are in excellent condition. Slight foxing, but mostly the text pages are clean and usable. Repairs in the index section. Old repairs to a couple of illustrations but still in good condition. External binding with signs of wear at the corners and edges, some stains but sturdy. Flyleaves with some stains. See photos as an integral part of the description. For its age, in my opinion this copy is in very good preservation condition.
