Realistic composition, impressionistic touch. Worked along the banks of the Scheldt, on the Belgian coast, in the Antwerp harbor, in the Limburg Campine, and later also in England, the Netherlands, Italy and France.
Subsequently settled back in Antwerp and exhibited there regularly from 1887 onward.
Was a member of the Circle “Als Ik Kan” in Antwerp.
