Panel by Nino Gobbis in faesite, with a wood support, from Italy (Veneto Montebelluna), dimensions 52 × 39.5 × 2 cm, Mid‑Century Modern, estimated period 1950–1960, condition as new – never used.
Description from the seller
Nino Gobbis Panel, embossed on fiberboard. Q018 GOLD BLACK SERIES 40 X 52
This 70 x 11 panel is part of the GOLD series that was intended to be used for a furniture collection in which the panels stood out against the minimalism of the mahogany furnishings.
Nino Gobbis used fiberboard panels as a support, which allows for precise lines and uniform and resistant fields with the relief cut.
The object testifies to an era in which Arreda di Celotto’s furniture represented, with these inserts, the interior design of the time.
The object is in perfect condition despite its 70 years.
Gobbis collaborated with Arreda di Celotto, which produced in the 1950s furnishings designed by famous Italian architects and designers such as Piero Celotto, commissioning artists like Nino Gobbis with decorative panels to furnish bourgeois houses, offices, hotels, or cruise ships.
Nino Gobbis, Italian painter and engraver active in the mid-20th century, whose figure is deeply linked to the world of designer interiors and Treviso’s modernity from the 1950s and 1960s.
Declaration of provenance
I declare that this panel originates from the private collection of the Celotto family of Montebelluna, in whose possession it has remained since the time of its creation. The work subsequently became part of my private collection and is offered for sale with this declaration of provenance, provided in good faith.
To protect the panel it will be shipped with a structure that protects and maintains the panel’s rigidity and prevents damage during transport; this, unfortunately, adds to the transport costs but guarantees the object’s integrity.
