Description from the seller
Majestic work by the master of Italian genre painting from the late 19th century attributed to Odoardo Toscani.
A masterfully executed oil on panel depicting the wonderful hills of Monferrato, with the village of Mombaruzzo in the background, which indeed gives the title to the work.
Dedicated or commissioned by the aforementioned Dr. Delzanno - Gaudio.
Title and dedication visible on the back of the piece.
Coming from the collection of Doctor Boa, a well-known Padua antiquarian collector who has recently passed away.
A work that we as a company have managed to acquire, together with a substantial quantity of other high-quality works, directly from the heirs of the same.
Works by the same author attributed to the painting, in evidently smaller dimensions, have passed with excellent results through various internationally important auction houses such as Sotheby’s and through smaller houses like Wannenes, Maison Bibelot and Capitolium, among others.
Signature of the author at the bottom right.
Very large dimensions exceeding two meters in width.
Signs of aging and wear clearly visible in the photos.
Photos as an integral part of the lot description.
Shipped insured and traceable.
