Italian black hand-blown glass vase from the 1960s–1970s, globular form, 19 cm wide, 17 cm high, 19 cm deep, decorated with polychrome enamels depicting a stylised fish and marine elements; in good condition with minor signs of age and use.
Description from the seller
Black artistic glass vase – Italy, second half of the 20th century
Elegant vase in hand-blown glass with a globular shape, made of glossy black glass and decorated with multicolored enamels featuring a vivid motif depicting a stylized fish, accompanied by marine elements and wavy lines. The decorative language, characterized by essential strokes, bright colors and graphic taste, evokes Gio Ponti's famous marine compositions, though it cannot be attributed with certainty to the renowned architect and designer.
The piece presents a strong decorative imprint typical of Italian artistic production in the second half of the twentieth century, with an interesting contrast between the glossy black background and the vivid decorations in shades of red, green, white and yellow.
Ideal as a design decor element or for collectors of Italian artistic glass.
Conditions: in generally good conservational state, with slight signs of aging and use compatible with the age. Please view the photographs carefully, which are an integral part of the description.
Note: the reference to Gio Ponti is to be understood solely as a stylistic recall and source of inspiration; the work is offered as “in the Gio Ponti style” and not as a production or attribution of the author.
