A striking and decorative wall coat rack from the 1960s, made of brass-colored metal with an elegant black decorative line and a characteristic hat rack of stretched rubber cords in black and yellow.

The combination of slender tubular constructions, graphic lines and warm brass color gives this coat rack the distinctive look of optimistic postwar design.

In the 1950s and 60s designers experimented extensively with new materials and lightweight constructions. Wall coat racks were not only practical but also took on a decorative function in the hallway. Especially metal tube frames in combination with colored elastic cords were popular. They offered an airy alternative to solid wooden furniture and complemented perfectly with the modernist and Scandinavian-inspired interiors of the time.

This coat rack features a roomy hat rack with the original stretched rubber cord and a row of six metal jacket hooks. The minimalist design makes it both functional and a real eye-catcher. Thanks to the combination of brass-colored metal, black accents and the yellow-black cords, it fits excellently in a vintage, mid-century or eclectic interior.

The coat rack is in good vintage condition with normal signs of use appropriate for its age. There are light scratches and wear to the finish. As visible in the photos, the coat rack is slightly out of line on one side (slight tilt), without detracting from its decorative appearance or usability. The original rubber cords are in neat condition.
