Description from the seller
Carlo Borri, 1950, a Neapolitan painter highly regarded in upper-class circles, inspired by the great Neapolitan School and by the grand masters who belong to it, his paintings are easy to find in the salons and galleries of the Neapolitan capital.
Oil painting on panel signed lower left, the work depicts a half-length female portrait.
Through a rapid, dense, and strongly tactile brushstroke, the artist abandons clear contour lines, evoking details and volumes through contrasts and patches of color.
The painting presents in its original patina, with a well-preserved pictorial surface and a strong tactile impact.
