SALVATORE RODRIGUEZ (Naples, March 11, 1957) is a Neapolitan painter who graduated from the Fine Arts Lyceum, where he developed solid technical skills and a marked painterly sensibility. Son of an artist, he lives and works permanently in Naples, actively taking part in the city’s cultural life and supporting artistic research with numerous study trips in Italy and Europe. He has taken part in important collective exhibitions in various Italian cities, earning wide critical and public approval.
Selected by the Superintendent of Artistic, Historic and Cultural Heritage, he has supervised the restoration of the frescoes of the Basilica of San Paolo Maggiore in Naples, confirming his competence also in the conservation field, alongside painting; he has created theatrical and musical scenographies, collaborating with the Nuova Filodrammatica Maiorese and with artists from the Neapolitan scene.
A deeply rooted artist in his homeland, Rodriguez has frequently exhibited along the Amalfi and Sorrentine coasts, as well as on the island of Capri, where he held a significant solo show.
Among his most recognizable subjects are elegant ballerinas and ethereal female figures, rendered with a poetic and luminous style; his works are today in private collections in Italy and abroad.
