Silent Orchid, an oil painting from 2026 by Oleg Sharapanovsky of Ukraine, is an original signed work from the 2020+ period, measuring 50 cm high by 30 cm wide.
Description from the seller
In Silent Orchid, Ukrainian artist Oleg Sharapavovsky transforms an everyday botanical arrangement into a luminous exploration of light, texture and atmosphere. Built through expressive palette knife work, the composition captures an orchid rising from a dark ceramic vessel, accompanied by a solitary green apple that quietly anchors the foreground.
Rather than pursuing meticulous realism, Sharapavovsky allows the physicality of oil paint to become an essential part of the narrative. Thick, confident layers of pigment catch the light, creating a surface that shifts constantly as the viewer moves around the work. Soft greys, muted blues and warm ivory tones establish a restrained palette, punctuated by delicate touches of crimson and emerald that animate the composition.
The painting exists between impression and abstraction. The orchid is immediately recognisable, yet dissolves into energetic gestures that celebrate the act of painting itself. This dialogue between structure and spontaneity gives the work its distinctive vitality while recalling the expressive traditions of twentieth century European painting.
With its elegant vertical format and richly textured surface, Silent Orchid offers a contemplative interpretation of the still life genre, where ordinary objects become vehicles for emotion, memory and quiet beauty.
