Two Art Nouveau hand mirrors, made of brass, from France, dating to the 1920s–1930s, in excellent, barely used condition with minimal signs of aging, featuring Pierrot and moon motifs and original mirror glass; left mirror measures 22 × 12.5 × 0.8 cm, right mirror 21.8 × 11.8 × 0.8 cm.
Description from the seller
Two beautiful Art Nouveau hand mirrors with the Pierrot and moon motif.
The mirrors are designed in the Art Nouveau style, recognizable by the organic, flowing shapes and the dreamy, theatrical theme.
This type of mirror featuring the French theatrical figures Pierrot and Colombine is originally a French design.
The theme is strongly inspired by the classic French lullaby "Au Clair de la Lune".
These mirrors date from the 1920s to the 1930s (the heyday of Art Deco and late Art Nouveau). Given the authentic patina and back patterns, these are early 20th-century pieces made in France.
Both hand mirrors have the original mirror glass.
