Worth explores how we attribute value to objects, memories and symbols of contemporary culture. The balloon dog, an icon associated with the playful universe and childhood, appears transformed into an almost monumental presence. The gold finish and the halo suspended above the figure evoke ideas of preciousness, desire and reverence, questioning the fine line between intrinsic value and the value we project onto what we consume.
The hyper-real reflections reinforce the illusion of a perfect object, while the background inspired by graffiti language preserves the urban energy that characterises Hione's practice. The contrast between the ephemerality of a balloon and the appearance of a precious artefact creates a visual tension that invites the observer to reflect on the construction of prestige, success and exclusivity.
