Recovery addresses resilience as an ongoing process of rebuilding. The balloon dog, a symbol of lightness and innocence, appears in an introspective stance, with a protective necklace that evokes fragility, care and the need for time to recover. The image moves away from the idea of perfection to reveal the beauty present in moments of vulnerability.
The graffiti marks covering the surface of the figure represent the experiences that shape identity. Rather than hiding the scars, they become an integral part of the visual narrative, suggesting that every impact, every mistake and every transformation contribute to what we become. The hyper-realism of the reflections reinforces the object's physical presence, while the urban-language-inspired background establishes a dialogue between the street's ephemeral universe and the painting's permanence.
In Recovery, Hione offers a reflection on the value of pause and repair. The work reminds us that recovering does not mean returning to the previous state, but accepting that change is part of growth. It is in the coexistence of fragility and strength that a new form of balance emerges, where the marks of the past cease to be signs of weakness and affirm themselves as testimonies of resilience.
