MARTE, NWA 13276, a Mars meteorite (origin: otro), weight 0.1 g.
Description from the seller
Opportunity to have a piece of the planet Mars in your hands.
Representative photo; you will receive a piece of similar weight and size.
Normally Martian pieces are very difficult to obtain, so this piece we offer is an opportunity to expand a good meteorite collection.
Due to the enormous impact of a meteorite on the Martian surface, material from the planet was ejected into outer space; this material traveled through space until, either because of the gravity of our planet or because in our trajectory we encountered these fragments, they finally fell to our planet.
Except for the Apollo missions and the nearly 380 kg of lunar samples they brought back to Earth, this is the only way we have to touch a piece of another planet.
The display case with the stand is included.
At Expometeoritos, we handle dissemination, talks, workshops, analyses, classification, and exhibitions of Meteorites.
We are members of:
- IMCA (International Meteorite Collectors Association) #8187
- GMA (Global Meteorite Association) #0078
- Meteoritical Society
- American Meteor Society
All our pieces are certified and, in addition, we provide the chemical composition analysis if the piece’s value exceeds €300, carried out at our facilities by X-ray Spectroscopy.
