"Eclipse and Hill" is part of a series of pictorial studies dedicated to exploring the expressive possibilities of color, form, and composition. In these works, the landscape becomes a field of experimentation where light, gesture, and chromatic relationships transform the experience of the territory.
Each painting arises from an intuitive process in which observation of the surroundings interlaces with imagination. It does not present a specific place; hills, mountains, and horizons are reconstructed through a palette of vibrant, contrasting tones, where color plays a leading role and defines the atmosphere, rhythm, and depth of the composition. In this case, the eclipse appears as a symbolic presence that reorganizes the landscape and directs the gaze toward the relationship between light and shadow, revealing new ways of perceiving space.

"Eclipse and Hill Vol. II" shows light with a more intense and dramatic presence. The mountains and valleys seem to emanate from the center of the composition, while the contrasts between deep blues, greens, and luminous yellows create a sense of expansion and movement. The painting seeks to convey the energy and vitality of an imagined territory, where nature is reinterpreted as a chromatic and emotional experience.

A. Asencio: Since I was little I have felt an inclination toward creation in all its forms. From my earliest crafts to painting, where I found my primary language of expression. That is how I discovered a universe full of possibilities to convey my ideas, concerns, and emotions. I am especially interested in creating compositions that offer the viewer a point of view with which they can identify. Whether through discomfort, serenity, or contemplation, my intention is to generate a space for reflection and questioning. At a pictorial level, I am drawn to vibrant colors, strong saturations, and fresh chromatic ranges. I find great inspiration in observing our social and natural surroundings. I often like to imagine that I am observing the planet from far away; that symbolic distance allows me to rethink reality from another perspective. I also explore the realm of femininity, addressing its multiple dimensions from a personal, sensitive, and introspective gaze.
