"Eclipse y Colina" is part of a series of pictorial studies devoted to exploring the expressive possibilities of color, form, and composition. In these works, the landscape becomes a field of experimentation where light, gesture, and chromatic relationships transform the experience of territory.
Each painting emerges from an intuitive process in which observation of the surroundings interweaves with the imagination. It does not present a specific place; the hills, mountains, and horizons are reconstructed through a palette of vibrant and contrasting tones, where color takes on a leading role and defines the atmosphere, rhythm, and depth of the composition. In this case, the eclipse appears as a symbolic presence that reorganizes the landscape and directs the gaze toward the relationship between light and shadow, revealing new ways of perceiving space.

In "Eclipse and Hill Vol. I", the landscape unfolds through a succession of color planes that evoke the softness of the relief and the constant transformation of light. The composition favors the rhythm of brushstrokes and chromatic relationships over the description of the place, allowing the territory to emerge between abstraction and figuration. A. Asencio: Since I was young I have felt a tilt toward creation in all its forms. From my earliest crafts to painting, where I found my main language of expression. That is how I discovered a universe full of possibilities to convey my ideas, concerns, and emotions.
I am especially interested in creating compositions that offer the viewer a point of view with which they can identify. Whether through discomfort, serenity, or contemplation, my intention is to generate a space for reflection and questioning. Painterly speaking, I am drawn to vibrant colors, strong saturations, and fresh chromatic scales.
I find a great source of inspiration in observing our social and natural surroundings. I often like to imagine that I am observing the planet from very far away; that symbolic distance allows me to rethink reality from another perspective. I also explore the realm of the feminine, addressing its multiple dimensions from a personal, sensitive, and introspective perspective.
