Sometimes the greatest meaning hides in what is not spoken. Between Us explores the quiet space between two people: a place where closeness and distance coexist.

The two female figures seem connected to each other by something invisible. They mirror each other, yet remain elusive. The subtle differences in light, color and posture raise questions without providing answers. Are they sisters, friends, two generations, or perhaps two aspects of the same personality?

With a restrained color palette, loose brushwork and an atmospheric background, the painting invites the viewer to discover his or her own story between the figures. It is precisely the emptiness between them that forms the emotional centre of the work.

Soms schuilt de grootste betekenis juist in wat niet wordt uitgesproken. Between Us onderzoekt de stille ruimte tussen twee mensen: een plek waar nabijheid en afstand tegelijkertijd bestaan.

De twee vrouwelijke figuren lijken met elkaar verbonden door iets onzichtbaars. Ze spiegelen elkaar, maar blijven tegelijkertijd ongrijpbaar. De subtiele verschillen in licht, kleur en houding roepen vragen op zonder antwoorden te geven. Zijn het zussen, vriendinnen, twee generaties of misschien twee kanten van dezelfde persoonlijkheid?
