Description from the seller

Z for Munch — The Artphabet
Edition 1/10 — 60 x 60 cm

This work is part of The Artphabet, an artistic project developed by the digital artist Cess, where each letter of the alphabet pays homage to great figures in art history and contemporary visual culture.

The piece interprets the letter Z as a direct nod to the visual universe of Edvard Munch and, in particular, to his most recognizable work, The Scream. The figure is integrated into the very shape of the letter, adopting a curved and tense posture that reinforces the feeling of anguish, unease, and disquiet characteristic of the Norwegian artist's imagery.

The golden face, with the mouth open and the hands placed on either side of the head, functions as the main expressive focal point of the composition. Its metallic finish contrasts with the black, soft and volumetric body, creating a sculptural, minimalist, and contemporary reinterpretation of one of the most universal icons in the history of art.

The form of the letter Z is built through the character's own body, generating a compact and recognizable composition in which typography and figure merge into a single piece. The neutral background allows the contrast between the dark surfaces and the golden face to stand out clearly, centering all attention on the expressiveness of the work.

Realized entirely in 3D (CGI), the piece has been modeled and rendered with a sculptural approach. Each element—from the curvature of the body to the modeling of the face, the hands, and the finishes of the materials—has been carefully worked to achieve a strong, clean, and contemporary visual presence.

The Artphabet has achieved notable international diffusion, being published in numerous media specializing in art, design, and visual culture, and consolidating itself as a prominent series within contemporary digital art.

Cess is a digital artist specializing in digital art, CGI, and artificial intelligence, with a solid track record and collaborations with international brands such as Apple, Google, Prada, Vogue, and MTV.

The work is presented in high-quality Giclée print on poly/cotton canvas, guaranteeing faithful reproduction of color, volumes, and nuances of the original digital.
