Description from the seller
*Parker scale points*
*98 pts Robert Parker*
Parker called it "a monument to the Barossa" and "one of the greatest wines of Australia". 2006 is considered a legendary vintage for RunRig.
*Fill level*
Choose: *Base of the neck*
_At 19 years old it's normal for it to reach the base of the neck. If it sits at the Neck = excellent preservation._
*Label condition*
Choose: *Excellent label*
_Lor label black Torbreck tends to hold up very well. Check that there is no moisture in the corners._
*Capsule condition*
Choose: *Excellent*
_Black capsule. Watch out for "Corroded capsule" if there was humidity in the cellar. If the cork is sound, mark Excellent._

_100% owned by Torbreck. Blend: Syrah 94% + Viognier 6%_
*Wine / winery history*
Torbreck was founded by David Powell in 1994. RunRig is its "cult wine" and a homage to a Massey Ferguson "RunRig" tractor they used in the vineyard.
Only made in the best vintages. Sourced from over 100-year-old vines in Barossa: Marananga and Ebenezer. Whole-cluster fermentation + 6% Viognier co-fermented, 20 months of aging in new French oak.
2006 was a hot vintage but with cool nights in Barossa. Resulted in powerful, concentrated wines with great longevity. Only ~3000 cases.
*To drink or to keep*
*To drink NOW or to keep*
It is in its prime window: 2015-2035+. At 19 years it already has tertiary notes of leather, licorice and truffle, but still has fruit. If you open it: decant at least 3 hours. If you keep it: it will easily hold for another 10 years.
*Shipping method*
*Refrigerated transport + horizontal position + insured*
It is a collectible wine. Avoid heat. Due to its value, insured shipment with anti-shatter packaging. Ideal is an isothermal container.
