Sagrasse (Sandro Grassetti, born in 1966) is a Marche-born artist whose life is rooted in artisanal craftsmanship. For forty years he has worked in the shadows of his workshop in a small municipality among the hills of Marche, specializing at the highest levels in resin processing, varnishing, and chroming.
The turning point of his life arrives with the COVID-19 pandemic: the forced lockdown and suspension of time become an emotional catalyst, pushing him to unleash the artistic urgency he had always nurtured. What for decades had been "only" an excellent technique thus becomes the means to bring modern pop sculptures to life—vibrant and ironic. Today Sagrasse has transformed his artisanal know-how into a recognized language of contemporary art, proving that it is never too late to give voice to one’s most authentic talent.
