An important and scarce 19th-century botanical work by the renowned French botanist and physician Achille Richard, published in Paris in 1825. This is the third edition, revised, corrected and expanded, covering the principles of botany and plant physiology.

The volume explores plant classification, anatomy, morphology, physiology and reproduction, and is illustrated with 8 folding engraved plates depicting detailed botanical and anatomical structures.

Bound in an attractive contemporary binding with gilt title on the spine. The text block is generally well preserved, showing only the expected signs of age, including light foxing and occasional stains. The folding plates are present and in good condition.
