Vergilius Maro - Eneide - 1550

Rare illustrated edition, in Italian, of Virgil's masterpiece, with a woodcut vignette at the beginning of each canto.

Unfortunately the title page with editorial data is missing, but it is certainly an edition attributable to the mid-sixteenth century.

PP.: 280 (numbered only on the recto). COMPLETE (except for the title page).

Copy with sheets in overall good to very good condition, with the usual signs of use and time and a few damp stains. Faded library stamp from a library long since extinct on the verso of page 105.

Seventeenth-century half-leather binding with manuscript title on the spine, well preserved. White endpapers. Red edges.
