Illustrated with a hand-coloured frontispiece and 80 hand coloured plates, octavo, pp xlix, 168, slightly age-toned internally, slight foxing here and there though the plates are quite bright; several early small botanical manuscript labels are loosely inserted without any damage to the pages; with an attractive bookplate of Maud E. Contemporary brown half calf and marbled boards, the corners very worn and peeling, the spine rubbed, lacking small pieces at the top, slightly split and worn at the base.
Though the binding is showing some wear, it is still firm and tight, and the contents are generally good.
