Description from the seller
Solid silver Kuchi tribal ring (15 g), carnelian and turquoise - Afghanistan, 19th-20th century
Exceptional collection ring belonging to the traditional jewelry of the nomadic Kuchi courts of Afghanistan. It is an authentic large-scale piece, handmade by local silversmiths using manual casting and forging techniques.
The ring stands out for its weight in solid silver. It features a design of three gemstones set in closed bezels, hand-fitted: a large central cabochon of natural orange-brown carnelian with a prominent relief, flanked on the sides by two 1 ct turquoise cabochons with visible natural veining.
Due to its ancient origin and its manufacture in itinerant workshops, it shows no hallmarks or purity marks.
The ring retains its original oxide patina in the folds.
It has not been cleaned to safeguard its collectible value.
The inner face of the band has a smooth finish suitable for wear.
Private collection
Excellent condition. It shows legitimate signs of wear and natural patina from the passage of time.
Solid gemstone setting and stable with no fractures.
Shipped via Certified Epoca mail and insured for its value.
