Fantastic Phantom fluorite specimen from the Okorusu Mine, Otjiwarongo District, Otjozondjupa Region, Namibia; weight 82 g, dimensions 5.5 × 4.2 × 3.5 cm.
Description from the seller
The specimen features a rich cluster of translucent green FLUORITE crystals with distinct cubic habit, forming an aesthetic, upright composition. The crystals show pleasant sea-green to emerald-green coloration, with subtle zoning and darker purple to bluish accents visible along some crystal edges. This color contrast gives the piece a very typical and desirable Okorusu character.
Small areas of pale QUARTZ are present in association with the fluorite, adding texture and contrast to the specimen. The piece has a naturally sculptural form, with multiple visible crystal faces and a good display angle. Under direct light, the fluorite shows a soft internal glow and glassy reflections, making it an appealing cabinet specimen.
The Okorusu Mine is one of Namibia’s classic fluorite localities and is especially known for sharp, lustrous cubic fluorite crystals in green to purple colors. Mindat describes Okorusu as an open-cast fluorite mine in the Otjozondjupa Region of Namibia, located north of Otjiwarongo, and notes that the locality produced some of the finest sea-green fluorite crystal specimens in the world.
A fine specimen for collectors of Namibian minerals, classic fluorite localities, or colorful cubic fluorite crystals.
