AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

An impressive and authentic antique (traditional round neck knot/chest pendant) from Central Asia, presumably crafted by the nomadic peoples of Central Asia around the turn of the century (ca. 1900–1930).

At the bottom there is a string of hand-made silver chains set with drop-shaped metal pendants. These create, with movement, the traditional soft tinkling sound that was originally intended to ward off evil spirits.

The reverse shows a beautiful, unrestored surface with authentic soldering traces and a deep, historical patina, confirming the age and intensive tribal use. The pendant is paired with a later-added, wearable textile cord, richly adorned with wooden beads bearing hand-burned pyrography patterns and vivid red seed beads.

A rare and collectible piece of Central Asian cultural history and textile art.

Dimensions: 14.8x10.2x1 cm (without cord)
Weight: 130 g
