Description from the seller
Title: The Window
School: European Abstraction (20th Century)
Style: Lyric Abstraction
Technique: Oil on canvas
Circle and artistic influence: Work framed within the tradition of mid-20th-century European abstraction, with affinities toward gestural painting and abstract expressionism. The organization of space through large color fields and the freedom of the brushstroke recall the plastic investigations of artists influenced by European informalism and color-field abstraction, where emotion and compositional balance prevail over figurative representation.
The composition presents a structure based on large fields of color delineated by broad, spontaneous, gestural brushstrokes. The contrasts between blue-toned, black, and ochre-yellow hues stand out, organized through rectangular shapes and vertical and horizontal divisions that evoke the geometry of a window opening toward an undefined space.
The application of oil, executed with broad and visible brushstrokes, adds dynamism and depth to the painted surface. The combination of transparencies, glazes, and light impastos generates an interesting material richness, while the balance between dark and luminous areas creates a sense of tension and contemplation characteristic of European abstract painting of the 20th century.
The work eschews figurative representation to focus on the dialogue between color, form, and texture, inviting the viewer to a free and personal interpretation of the composition.
Observations:
The work may incur damage during transport even with proper packaging. In that case, we will need photographs of the damages to proceed with compensation. Customer satisfaction is always our priority.
Exceptionally, shipping costs may be affected by a surcharge due to reasons such as being outside a continental territory, excessive dimensions, or weight of the item. PremiArt will not cover this surcharge under any circumstances.
Due to problems at the Switzerland border we must inform you that shipments longer than 1 meter in length or height to that destination will not be made.
Due to the high volume of shipments, it is possible that the order may be delayed by more than three days, for which we apologize and thank you for your patience. If you have any questions about your order, please contact us via internal messaging.
