ISAILOFF Alexandre (1855-1934)
« Corniche à Marseille »
Oil on panel,
Signed bottom right,
Beautiful finely executed work by the Marseille painter Alexandre Isailoff who depicts the Marseille seashore along the coast at the end of a summer day.
The artist has managed to convey with his colors perfectly the atmosphere of a summer day in Provence.
This work is inspired by the technique directly from his master, the painter Jean-Baptiste Olive.
Born in Constantinople, he studied under Regnier at the National School of Fine Arts of Marseille, then under Jean-Baptiste OLIVE. Ultimately he turned to a career as a painter-draftsman.
