Wonderful coffee and tea service for eight. With salt and pepper shakers. Design: Dorothy Hafner, 1980s. Model Flash One. Abstract polychrome decoration on a cream-colored ground, manufactory mark Rosenthal. Excellent condition.

In 1973, the American avant-garde artist Dorothy Hafner first explored ceramics. In the following 15 years she created more than 12 dinnerware lines for companies such as Tiffany & Co. in New York City and Rosenthal in Germany. The Flash shape for Rosenthal was created in 1982. It quickly became a cult object of that era and has its fixed place in the history of ceramics and in the history of design.
