The artist paid particular attention to details in his composition: to the flowers, to the hair, and to the gentle expression on the face.
His wife is a source of inspiration for the artist, whom he portrays on numerous occasions.

Very young, Marcel Dyf drew and frequented the Louvre; childhood holidays in Normandy gave him forever the taste for the sea and marine skies.
When his studies were completed, his first job led him to the south of Morocco; dazzled by the light and landscapes, he decided to devote his life to painting.
In 1923, he settled in the south, in Arles, where a hard yet exhilarating apprenticeship began, which would shape the painter in a mythic place, welcomed and supported by many intellectual and notable friends of Arles.
He notably painted the murals for the town halls of Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer and Saint-Martin-de-Crau.

During World War II, he joined the resistance in the maquis. At the end of the war, Marcel Dyf split his time between his Paris studio and the Midi.
"The tour de force is quite rare. He had the reserve and elegance of a lord, and the simplest people felt perfectly at ease with him. Often penniless as a gypsy, he remained in sumptuous poverty like a patron. He had so much elegance and radiance that on occasions when you happened to be of service to him, you felt you were obliged to him. He was charm made flesh, and this nearly harmed his painting. It gave the impression of such ease that it seemed superficial, whereas it was learned, demanding, rigorous, and coordinated. This is what, over the years, became more and more evident. From 1944, he held three exhibitions at the Petrides Gallery in Paris, returned to Arles, then to Saint-Paul-de-Vence.
In 1954, in Cannes, he married Claudine and returned to settle in the Paris region at Bois-d’Arcy in 1959.
As early as 1955, his works were shown at Frost & Reed Gallery in London.
His talent is now recognized internationally.

Dimensions: 55 x 46 cm without the frame and 70 x 61 cm with its original gilded wooden frame in 19th-century style.
