Robert Picault (1919-2000) – Set of 3 pieces in glazed ceramic – Vallauris – 1950s-1960s
Elegant glazed ceramic set attributed to Robert Picault, iconic figure in the revival of Vallauris pottery. This set comprises:
* a small covered pot with notch for a spoon,
* a small milk or cream jug,
* a footed mug.
All three pieces feature a superb speckled white glaze with brown, typical of Vallauris utilitarian productions from the 1950s-1960s. The simple, harmonious shapes perfectly illustrate the functional yet refined style that made Robert Picault famous.
