AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Acrylic on canvas.

Master Aldo Gentilini.

In good condition.

Signed on the front, at the bottom, while on the back is the certificate of authenticity made directly by the artist.

Canvas dimensions: 24 x 18 cm.

Notable as with all his works and unusual because of its very small size.

This work by Master Aldo Gentilini also has something enigmatic about it.

It is certainly an interesting piece for someone with a small space to decorate and enliven with taste. In Abstract / figurative style, it is complete with its original frame, which is in good condition, and the glass.

The images shown are an integral part of the description.

It will be packed with great care and shipped via express courier with tracking.

Aldo Gentilini was born in Genoa in 1911. From a young age he felt a strong religious vocation that led him to enter the cloistered monastery of Pietrasanta, where he stayed for three years pursuing philosophical studies, before dedicating himself, as a self-taught artist, to artistic research, which would lead him to exhibit in numerous shows in Italy and abroad.

A man of faith, he believed that only through art could the divine be reached. And this idea would underpin all his work: "I try to make emptiness – Gentilini stated – This emptiness provokes a certain catharsis in me: I observe sensitive values that I respect, I reassess them, but I never know how I will fall into the painting, and this is the realization of a truth toward the sign never thought".

He was an artist practicing asceticism, to imitate the Saint to whom he was devoted. The two natures, the human and the aesthetic, coincide perfectly.
