Biography:
Andrea Giorgi (1974), born in Italy, first an interior designer for 10 years and then a megayacht interior designer for 12 years, was one of the first Italian digital artists to exhibit his works at fair and international shows since 2008. Some of his artworks decorate the luxurious rooms of prestigious yachts. One of his works was purchased by Ferrero, thus becoming part of an important private collection of international contemporary art.
Since 2016 also a digital sculptor, his sculptures are scattered around the world. Andrea Giorgi was one of the first sculptors to sell on Catawiki, founder since 2016 with his boxers, the characters that emerge from magazines and walls, his reticular sculptures, all sculptures that today various artists on Catawiki and other platforms offer in variants and reinterpretations.
Giorgi designs all of his sculptures entirely with 3D techniques, which he then prints in Italy with different technologies. The sculptures printed with laser are then hand-colored by the artist. Finally, he collaborates with a renowned Italian foundry for the production of his most exclusive series, the bronze pieces in lost-wax casting. Unlike most contemporary artists seeking quick success who try to maximize the number of pieces to invent and the sales, Giorgi’s philosophy learned while working for several years in the luxury world is 'LESS IS MORE'.
His annual production and sale are deliberately very limited, both for the production of new pieces and for weekly sales on Catawiki.

Generally opposed to much of today’s pop art street art trend where too many artists buy sculptures (unfortunately often Chinese) only to color them and add famous logos without at least specifying that they did not create the sculpture themselves, Giorgi designs all of his sculptures entirely with 3D techniques, which he then prints in Italy with various technologies (from the simplest and most affordable plastic jet to the more complex and expensive laser prints). The laser sculptures are then hand-colored by the artist. Finally, he collaborates with a renowned Italian foundry for the production of his most exclusive series, the lost-wax bronze pieces. Unlike most contemporary artists seeking quick success who try to maximize the number of pieces to invent and the sales, Giorgi’s philosophy learned while working for several years in the luxury world is 'LESS IS MORE'.

Moreover, today it is almost impossible to buy something at auction without a reserve price.
This is due both to the high production cost of most sculptures which does not allow for “undervaluing” them and to safeguard the value of sold sculptures. In this way the sculptures end up in the hands of collectors who rarely resell them, except after several years, and only speculative purchases are avoided.
