Kafka's "Der Heizer" - The Stoker - here in the 3rd edition (1917/1918) is a short story which was intended to be the first chapter for a novel, Kafka never completed, The softcover was first published in 1913. After Kafka's death (1924) it became the opening chapter for the novel "Amerika", posthumously edited and published by Max Brod.
Original black-wrappers with the blue label (Der Jüngste Tag, 3).
Printed by. Dietsch & Brückner, Weimar. Copyright note of 1913 on verso of fly-leaf.
Front-cover of binding with two old stains, 3 cm side-tear repaired.
Both corners of back cover weak and bent. (please inspect the relevant photos)
Occasional very light and faint foxing stains here and there. On the whole clean copy.
